Analyst/ Associate - Equity Research, Business & Information Services

Job Description:The Business & Information Services team covers 19 stocks across the data & information and core business services spaces. The diversity of coverage provides significant learning opportunities (different business models, end-markets) in a sector with strong investor interest. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of sell-side or buy-side experience covering the sector or related industries including financial services or software. This candidate will work with both the Senior Analyst and team members in all aspects of the job, including idea generation, contribution to investment recommendations, industry research, modeling, writing, valuation analysis, client interaction, attending company meetings and industry conferences and much more.ResponsibilitiesWork with Senior Analyst to develop differentiated investment ideas and actionable research for institutional investor clientsWrite regular industry and company reports and company launch initiations from scratchParticipate in IPO-related vettings and analyst daysPerform complex financial modeling & valuation workDevelop databases integral to our research productDemonstrate strong industry knowledge and business judgmentSeek out new, unusual sources of information to augment our research capabilitiesClosely follow and understand market, industry and company specific activity, and relay to analyst when travelingBuild relationships and facilitate information flow with contacts at covered companiesInterview industry experts regarding our covered companies and industriesInteract regularly with sales, trading and external clientsRespond to research inquiries from our institutional investor clients during market hoursIf performance on team is strong enough, take on coverage of individual stocks over timeQualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience; CFA or other relevant professional certifications is a plusMinimum 3 years experience - sell-side or buy-side (research, investment banking) preferredExperience covering business and information services, financials or software preferred but not requiredStrong writing, modeling and financial analysis skills (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement in Excel)Along with Finance and Accounting, should have basic understanding of economics, macroeconomic factors, international affairs, and policy/politicsCredit skills are a plusStrong verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to generate differentiated investment insights and communicate complex ideas clearlySelf-motivated, intellectually curious, and passionate about financial marketsMust have strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and a strong work ethicMust work well in a collaborative team environmentShift:1st shift (United States of America)Hours Per Week: 40Pay Transparency detailsUS - NY - New York - ONE BRYANT PARK - BANK OF AMERICA TOWER (NY1100)Pay and benefits informationPay range$110,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.Discretionary incentive eligibleThis role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan.
