Job Summary We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide on-site technical support for desktop systems within a Microsoft-based enterprise environment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting end users, managing service requests, and ensuring the reliable operation of desktop systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical troubleshooting skills, experience supporting Microsoft technologies, and a customer-focused approach to delivering IT support. Key Responsibilities • Provide PC and laptop break/fix support, including hardware and software installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting. • Deliver end-user support through in-person, phone, email, and remote support channels. • Manage the complete lifecycle of support tickets, including creation, documentation, updates, resolution, and escalation in accordance with established service level agreements (SLAs). • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and connectivity issues using structured troubleshooting methodologies. • Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to resolve technical issues and coordinate hardware or software support. • Ensure desktop systems integrate effectively with enterprise infrastructure, including file servers, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, business applications, and conferencing platforms. • Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, system changes, and technical procedures. • Contribute to the development and maintenance of knowledge base articles and support documentation. • Prioritize and manage multiple support requests based on urgency, business impact, and established priorities. • Support desktop system maintenance, upgrades, and deployment activities. • Provide excellent customer service while assisting both technical and non-technical users. Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. • Hands-on experience supporting desktop hardware, operating systems, and standard business applications. • Strong troubleshooting skills across desktop hardware, software, operating systems, and basic networking issues. • Experience working with a ticketing or IT service management platform such as ServiceNow or a similar solution. • Experience supporting Microsoft technologies, including Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, and Active Directory. • Familiarity with basic scripting languages such as PowerShell, Perl, or Shell scripting. • Strong customer service, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced support environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting enterprise desktop environments. • Experience with remote support tools and endpoint management solutions. • Knowledge of desktop imaging, software deployment, and endpoint lifecycle management. • Experience supporting enterprise collaboration and productivity platforms.
