Paid Summer Internship – Sales and Marketing Support (Specialty Materials & Packaging Solutions) Location: Houston, TX (In-office) Mitsui Plastics, Inc. Headquartered in White Plains, NY, MPI supports customers across the plastics and chemical industries as part of the global Mitsui & Co. network. Position Summary Mitsui Plastics, Inc. (MPI) is seeking a Summer Intern to support its Specialty Materials & Packaging Solutions business. This role offers hands‑on exposure to sales, marketing, market research, and operations within the specialty chemicals and plastics industry. The intern will work closely with the Houston-based team and other branch offices to support ongoing commercial initiatives, evaluate new business opportunities, and contribute to strategic projects across a range of material segments. Position Responsibilities Conduct market research on key products Support technical and commercial analysis of new product opportunities Monitor trends in sustainability, recycling, and advanced materials Assist Business team to maintain & prepare reports on key business developments and meeting summaries Assist Business team in day‑to‑day execution of business operations including product delivery coordination and inventory management Execute other projects as assigned Position Requirements Current student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Interest in chemicals, plastics, or materials industries Proficiency in MS Office Intern Will Gain Exposure to real‑world commercial operations in plastics & chemical industry Experience with market research, sales strategy, and data analysis Hands‑on involvement in customer projects and supply chain activitiesBeing a part of a cross functional fast‑paced business team Work Schedule Office Hours: Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm Internship hours and duration flexible based on academic schedule #J-18808-Ljbffr Wayne State University
