Business Manager

Administrative Supervisor

In conjunction with the Superintendent, provide administrative supervision for the fiscal; food service and support functions of the District, allowing the highest and best use of the financial resources of the District thus insuring the maximum utilization of the financial resources of the District for educational purposes.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred; in business administration, economics, public administration, or education.
• Experience in education finances preferred.
• Alaska teaching certificate is desirable but not required.
• A minimum of five years experience in financial management.
• Proven and successful supervisory experience in dealing with, and a demonstrated understanding of, public agencies with emphasis on their internal operations, policies and procedures.
• Proven and successful supervisory experience with computerized accounting and payroll systems.
• Ability to live and work in a cross-cultural, rural Alaskan environment.
• Ability to successfully execute the duties of the position as described below.

Duties:

• Operation and management of the district's varied and complex fiscal system.
• Application and management of the district's computerized accounting and payroll systems.
• Direction of the district's accounting and financial reporting requirements for the State and Federal programs.
• Development and coordination of the district purchasing practices, procedures, and systems.
• Administrative direction of a decision making responsibility for the district's food service.
• Administrative direction and contractual approval for the district housing and transportation programs.
