Director of Housekeeping

Director of Housekeeping A skilled nursing facility in the Rochester, NY area is seeking an energetic and highly organized Director of Housekeeping to lead the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Departments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong attention to detail who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Oversee daily housekeeping and laundry operations and supervise assigned staff. Develop staff schedules, cleaning assignments, and routine/deep-cleaning schedules. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and infection prevention. Conduct daily rounds to ensure resident rooms and common areas meet facility standards. Train, educate, and support housekeeping and laundry staff. Ensure compliance with OSHA, infection control, and facility policies. Coordinate housekeeping services with Nursing and other departments. Monitor the proper handling, washing, storage, and transportation of linens and laundry. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Previous housekeeping supervisory or management experience preferred. Healthcare or long-term care experience is a plus. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Must be dependable, hands-on, and able to work independently.
