Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused RMC Patient Care Call Coordinator to support referral management operations in a fully remote healthcare environment. This position is responsible for coordinating referrals, obtaining and tracking authorizations, responding to patient and provider inquiries, and ensuring referrals are processed accurately and within established turnaround times.

The ideal candidate will have healthcare and customer service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple systems and priorities in a fast-paced remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage internal and external referrals, including daily referral reconciliation activities.
• Review, gather, and process required referral documentation while meeting established turnaround times.
• Answer incoming calls and assist patients, providers, and other callers with referral inquiries, scheduling, and related needs.
• Provide professional and compassionate customer service throughout the referral process.
• Obtain, update, and track prior authorizations and referral authorizations.
• Collaborate with patients, providers, insurance companies, and internal departments to resolve referral-related issues.
• Monitor referral status and follow up on outstanding requests to ensure timely completion.
• Accurately document referral activity and maintain records within applicable healthcare systems.
• Manage multiple software applications and systems simultaneously.
• Prioritize daily workloads and work independently while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and patient-focused approach in all interactions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of healthcare-related experience.
• At least 1 year of customer service experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong time-management and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and software applications.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of referral management experience.
• 1–2 years of medical insurance experience.
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
• Experience with prior authorizations and referral processes.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems.
• Previous remote healthcare experience.
• Bilingual communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
