Part-Time | Nights | $35.00–$55.00/hour + Night Shift Differential

Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and clinically strong Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team on nights .

What You'll Do

• Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to medical/surgical patients throughout the continuum of care.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify changes in patient condition.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies.
• Monitor patient responses to medications, treatments, and interventions and communicate significant changes promptly.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition, including escalating concerns when necessary.
• Collaborate with physicians and members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and ongoing care needs.
• Promote patient safety, fall prevention, infection prevention, and other quality and safety initiatives.
• Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Participate in admission, transfer, discharge, and transition-of-care processes.
• Prioritize and organize care effectively in a fast-paced medical/surgical environment.
• Support and contribute to a positive, respectful, and collaborative team culture.
• Participate in quality improvement and professional development activities.
• Perform other duties within the scope of practice as assigned.

What You BringRequired

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois .
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Ability to successfully complete required hospital orientation and competency requirements.

Preferred

• Previous medical/surgical, acute-care, or hospital nursing experience.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Experience caring for patients with multiple medical diagnoses and complex care needs.
• Strong clinical assessment, prioritization, and critical-thinking skills.

New graduate RNs may be considered. Experienced acute-care RNs are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation

$35.00–$55.00/hour 

Final compensation is determined based on relevant nursing experience, education, certifications, clinical skills, and other job-related qualifications in accordance with Gateway Regional Medical Center's compensation practices.
