The Warehouse Lead is responsible for providing day-to-day leadership and coordination of warehouse operations while serving as a hands-on resource for the warehouse team. This position oversees daily receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping, and warehouse organization activities to ensure operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

The Warehouse Lead serves as the primary floor leader, ensuring operational priorities are executed safely, accurately, and on time. This role partners closely with Warehouse Operations, Quality, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to drive process compliance, inventory integrity, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

The Warehouse Lead will play a critical role in supporting warehouse growth, process standardization, RFSmart and NetSuite optimization, and inventory control initiatives

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Leadership

• Lead daily warehouse floor operations including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory movement activities.
• Coordinate daily labor assignments and workload priorities to ensure operational objectives are achieved.
• Monitor workflow throughout the day and adjust resources as necessary to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for warehouse operational issues and escalations.
• Maintain strong floor presence and actively support warehouse personnel throughout daily operations.

Receiving Operations

• Oversee inbound receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of inventory.
• Coordinate unloading and inspection of incoming freight shipments.
• Verify quantities, product condition, and documentation accuracy.
• Ensure discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged goods are properly documented and escalated.
• Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately within NetSuite and RFSmart systems.
• Drive receiving efficiency and dock organization.

Shipping & Order Fulfillment

• Oversee daily sales order fulfillment activities.
• Coordinate picking, packing, labeling, and shipment preparation.
• Ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on schedule.
• Monitor shipping priorities and communicate changing customer requirements.
• Verify freight documentation and shipping compliance requirements.
• Support parcel, LTL, and truckload shipping activities.

Inventory Management

• Maintain inventory accuracy through disciplined warehouse execution.
• Support cycle count programs and inventory audits.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Assist with warehouse slotting and primary pick location management.
• Ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely.
• Monitor inventory movement and storage practices to maximize efficiency and minimize handling.

Team Leadership & Development

• Provide daily leadership, coaching, and direction to warehouse personnel.
• Train employees on warehouse processes, safety procedures, inventory control, RFSmart, and NetSuite transactions.
• Crosstrain team members to improve operational flexibility.
• Promote accountability, teamwork, and professional development.
• Assist management with employee performance evaluations and development plans.
• Support staffing, onboarding, and temporary labor coordination efforts.

Process Improvement & Quality

• Support implementation and compliance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in ISO 9001 quality initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and customer service.
• Support RFSmart implementation and warehouse process optimization projects.
• Assist in documenting and standardizing operational processes.

Safety & Compliance

• Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections of warehouse equipment and work areas.
• Report safety concerns and corrective actions promptly.
• Support OSHA compliance and warehouse safety initiatives.

Facility Organization & Housekeeping

• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and professional appearance.
• Support 5S and warehouse organization initiatives.
• Ensure staging, receiving, shipping, and storage areas remain organized and efficient.
• Monitor warehouse supplies and equipment needs.
• Assist with facility improvement projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
• Experience using warehouse management or ERP systems
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

• Experience with NetSuite ERP
• Experience with RFSmart
• Experience with parcel, LTL, and freight shipping operations
• Inventory control and cycle counting experience
• Lean, Continuous Improvement, or 5S experience

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment
• Work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures
• Ability to safely perform all essential warehouse functions
