Procurement SpecialistThe Procurement Specialist's primary responsibilities include providing overall support to the purchasing process, including review of purchase order requisitions for compliance with Pandrol processes, issuing purchase orders within authority limits, maintaining tooling/parts/other items inventory and location accuracy in the facility, performing adjustments and cycle counts as required from both written and verbal instructions while adhering to time guidelines set forth by the department/site manager, and other duties as necessary adjuncts to the Procurement Specialist's work functions. The Procurement Specialist also delivers on the day-to-day commitments to Pandrol's Customer, our Company, and our People.Key areas of activity and responsibility include performing various purchasing activities as directed or scheduled, including review of PO requisitions for compliance with Pandrol policies and issuing POs within Pandrol's purchasing platform, ERP System. The Procurement Specialist also becomes knowledgeable in all areas of purchasing of items and suppliers within the scope of duties and authority, becomes proficient in knowledge and use of ERP Systems, ensuring purchasing of items is consistent with min/max guidelines to ensure availability, performing inventories and cycle counts per customer/management request to ensure accuracy of product and/or location codes, identifying, analyzing, and addressing gaps in inventory process, assessing and improving flow of supplies through the company and ensuring inventory security integrity, ensuring all documentation related to inventory flow is complete, accurate and filed correctly including tracking all warranties, tracking part warranty, rebuilt components and tools to be sharpened, performing audits as required to assure accuracy and determine root causes for inaccuracies, providing feedback to management regarding errors, collecting, researching and processing damaged product – submitting forms for system input, performing post-production reconciliations as required, ensuring compliance with corporate quality manual, collaborating with the Operations team to ensure accurate forecasting and inventory planning, liaising with counterparts in other functional areas such as Sales, Product Management, and Warehouse personnel to ensure alignment of activities and objectives, creating purchase orders and tallying these with supply requests and orders, working closely with the team to understand details of procurement requirements, managing and monitoring open orders and delivery dates, and other related and ancillary duties as may be assigned or required.Contacts include internal Pandrol site personnel, Pandrol business unit personnel, Pandrol Global Commodity Managers, and external peers and vendors.Education and skills needed include a high school diploma or higher, solid analytical and computer skills, strong communication skills, outstanding team building and leadership skills, knowledge of pricing, purchasing terms and concepts, supplier relationships, math knowledge and skills at the intermediate level or above, well-developed verbal and written communication ability, excellent time management skills, detail oriented, exceptionally organized, computer literate – intermediate level of Word and Excel, and maintaining a clean and safe work area; adhering to all safety guidelines.Measurement of successful performance will be knowledge and proficiency in use of Pandrol's purchasing platform, knowledge and application of Pandrol's purchasing policies and processes, sound and accurate inventory management and purchasing activities to maintain the same, and inventory management and inventory accuracy.Contractual/Financial Authority: To be determined.
