Teacher of the Deaf in Phoenix, AZ

This full-time contract role, starting in early August and concluding in late May, involves providing specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Your expertise will help foster a welcoming and supportive classroom experience, focusing on accessibility and student achievement. Onsite candidates are strongly preferred, but qualified virtual applicants may be considered. Key Qualifications: Current Standard Professional Certificate Completed Deaf/Hard of Hearing (K-12) Endorsement Valid IVP Fingerprint Card Experience supporting students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a K-12 setting Ability to deliver differentiated instruction and specialized strategies for accessibility Strong communication and collaboration skills Flexibility to adapt to different educational settings and student needs Role Responsibilities: Plan and implement individualized educational programs for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing Assess student needs, progress, and goals Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, and support staff Use specialized teaching methods and technologies to foster a learning-rich environment Provide consultative support to staff and families for student success Maintain compliance with all documentation and reporting requirements Encourage self-advocacy and independence among students This is an opportunity to make an impact within a supportive and diverse school community during the academic year.
