As a Discmaker, you will be contributing to the safe and precise manufacturing of rupture discs-critical components that protect industrial systems from overpressure. You will be working with specialized equipment, applying craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on production work, value accuracy, and take pride in producing components that meet the highest safety and performance standards.

As a Discmaker, you will be responsible for:

 

• Developing layout and planning sequences of operations by studying blueprints, shop orders, and manufacturing procedures
• Setting up and operating equipment such as presses, punches, nibbler cutters, hydraulic testers, lifts, dial indicators, and precision measuring tools
• Forming materials using required equipment to produce rupture discs
• Cleaning rupture disc components according to standard or special cleaning procedures
• Assembling components into completed rupture discs
• Performing burst tests and oven testing on discs
• Inspecting completed rupture discs to verify conformance to specifications
• Carrying out additional duties as assigned based on workload and business needs

To be successful in this role you will:

 

 

• Have a high school diploma or GED
• Have 1-3 months of work experience in a production environment (experience at CDC preferred)
• Have the ability to read blueprints
• Have basic math and reading skills
• Have working knowledge of industrial equipment used in producing rupture discs
• Have a willingness to follow all manufacturing procedures and company policies
• Have strong attention to detail
• Have concern for quality, accuracy, and safety
• Have the ability to stay on task and manage time efficiently
• Have a positive attitude and ability to work well with peers, supervisors, management, and external visitors
• Have the physical ability to stand/walk for most of the shift, lift up to 50 pounds, and safely use required tools and PPE
