Medical Laboratory Technician

About the position: This is a fast-paced outpatient facility that requires autonomy, effective teamwork, great communication, a positive attitude, and flexibility.

Daily caseload: Day shift. No weekend requirement. No on-call required. Overtime is possible. Phlebotomy is required. Floating to sister facilities is required/preferred.

Years of experience required: First-timers are accepted.

Cert/license requirements: ASCP or AMT certification.

Special requirements: No radiation badge required.

Open to accommodating block schedule? Approval prior to assignment but not guaranteed.

Radius rule? Yes, 60 miles. Locals are accepted on a case-by-case basis at 10% less than the posted bill rate. Pending state license is not accepted; SC license must be in hand prior to start.

No license required in SC RTO restrictions: All RTO must be included at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility need.

Guaranteed hours: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks. Facility does not allow call outs.

Hospital highlights: Type of facility is an oncology clinic. Laboratory scrub color is burgundy/wine (Landeau scrub swatch). Charting is Epic. Hurricane season travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams. If this is a problem, please ensure travelers do not confirm a NEW or EXT assignment during the season. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. The peak months for hurricane activity are August and September.
