Support students' communication and learning as a contract Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA), helping provide services to elementary and middle schools across the Houston metro area beginning in early 2027. Multiple SLPA professionals are needed to provide maternity leave coverage, with assignments available in South, West, Southwest, and East/Southeast Houston.
Preferred candidates bring prior school-based SLPA experience and possess an active Texas SLPA license. This position is strictly on-site; applicants must confirm their ability to reliably commute to assigned campuses, as travel across this vast district can be significant and only local, feasible commutes (typically under 30 miles) are considered.
What we’re seeking:
- Active, in-hand Texas SLPA license (supervision hours cannot be supported in this contract).
- Demonstrated school-based SLPA experience.
- On-site availability for all assigned dates and locations.
- Reliable transportation and confirmed, manageable daily commute to Houston-area schools.
- Ability to start as early as January or March 2027, depending on the campus.
- Professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced, diverse school environment.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with supervising SLPs to deliver direct therapy services.
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Travel between specified campuses as scheduled, ensuring consistent support during assigned maternity leaves.
- Engage with students, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to further educational outcomes.
