Assistant Manager – Sales & Customer Service Focus

The Assistant Manager – Sales & Customer Service Focus plays an essential role in delivering outstanding customer experiences while supporting the daily operations of our Springfield and Lorton locations. This position offers a balanced combination of office-based administrative and customer service responsibilities with hands-on, outside facility work.

The ideal candidate is comfortable moving between the office and the facility throughout the day—assisting customers, conducting rentals, completing administrative tasks, maintaining the property, monitoring the facility, and supporting the team wherever needed. This is an active, hands-on position that requires adaptability, dependability, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize changing needs.

The position reports to the Regional Manager and requires occasional travel between the Springfield and Lorton locations, as well as flexible scheduling that may include weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective customers
• Provide knowledgeable guidance and personalized storage solutions
• Deliver consistent, friendly, and professional customer service during rentals and renewals
• Assist with storage unit rental sales and related administrative tasks
• Balance office-based responsibilities with hands-on work throughout the facility and property
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming facility environment
• Conduct regular property walks and monitor the overall condition and appearance of the facility
• Assist with light facility-related tasks and address issues that affect the customer experience
• Resolve customer questions and concerns patiently using a professional, problem-solving approach
• Support daily facility operations and step in wherever needed to keep the property running smoothly
• Utilize POS systems and standard office software
• Maintain accurate records and complete routine administrative responsibilities
• Communicate effectively through weekly team meetings and daily briefings
• Collaborate with team members to promote a supportive and productive workplace
• Adapt to changing priorities and contribute both independently and as part of a team
• Occasionally travel between Springfield and Lorton locations
• Work comfortably in both an office environment and an outdoor facility environment, including varying weather conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 1 year of customer service experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, leasing, property management, or a related field
• Strong customer service and sales skills
• Demonstrated team leadership and communication abilities
• Proven problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
• Comfortable managing conflicts and adapting to fast-paced environments
• Comfortable performing both administrative/office duties and hands-on facility responsibilities
• Dependable, adaptable, and willing to assist wherever needed
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive, team-oriented attitude
