Telemedicine Part-Time Physician (MD/DO) — Remote About Clinician Staffing

Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Telemedicine Physician to deliver virtual care to patients on behalf of one of our partner organizations. This role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients through synchronous video visits, telephonic consults, and asynchronous messaging, depending on the client's care model. You will work remotely from a private, HIPAA-compliant environment, following evidence-based clinical protocols and escalating cases that require in-person evaluation.

This is a strong fit for physicians who want scheduling flexibility, a high-volume outpatient workflow, and the ability to practice across multiple states.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual patient encounters via video, phone, and/or secure messaging in accordance with the client's care model
• Obtain histories, evaluate presenting symptoms, form assessments, and develop treatment plans within the scope of telemedicine
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests where clinically appropriate and available
• E-prescribe medications in compliance with federal and state regulations, including controlled substance rules where applicable
• Document all encounters accurately and promptly in the client's EMR/EHR platform
• Triage and escalate patients requiring in-person care, emergency services, or specialist referral
• Adhere to clinical protocols, quality standards, and productivity expectations set by the partner organization
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state telehealth regulations, and medical board requirements in all states of licensure
• Participate in quality assurance review, peer review, and clinical training as required

Required Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school
• Completion of an accredited residency program in; Family Medicine / Internal Medicine / Emergency Medicine / Pediatrics
• Board Certified or Board Eligible ABMS
• Active, unrestricted medical license in at least 3 U.S. states
• Clean malpractice history with no adverse board actions
• Current BLS certification
• 4+ years of post-residency clinical experience
• Reliable high-speed internet and a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace with a computer, webcam, and headset
• Comfort with EMR documentation and virtual care platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior telemedicine or virtual urgent care experience
• Licensure in multiple states, or eligibility through the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC)
• Experience in high-volume outpatient, urgent care, or emergency settings
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) proficiency
• Familiarity with EMR platform, e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks
