As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our accounting department and help strengthen the systems, processes, and controls that support our business.This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for accounting operations across multiple entities. The Accounting Manager will work closely with the CFO, oversee and develop accounting staff, improve processes and ERP utilization, and help ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.For someone who enjoys improving processes, developing a team, and taking ownership of an accounting function in a growing organization, this position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.Location: Corporate Office - GFT Ready Mix - ArizonaEmployment Status: Full-TimeSchedule: Monday - FridayCompensation: $90,000–$110,000 annually, depending on experienceJob DutiesOversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and front desk admin.Maintain accuracy of the general ledger and ensure timely account reconciliations.Assist the CFO with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.Prepare and review internal financial reports as requested by the CFO.Assist with material inventory accounting and reconciliation of usage variances.Support fixed asset accounting for plants, batch systems, and fleet equipment.Supervise high-volume customer billing.Monitor AR aging and oversee collections efforts.Review customer credit accounts and manage credit risk exposure.Ensure compliance with lien laws, waivers, and contract billing requirements.Process/enter vendor invoices and payments and material purchase reconciliations.Monitor fuel, maintenance, and fleet-related expenses.Oversee monthly credit card reconciliations.Process annual 1099 filings.Assist with cash flow management.Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP.Support audits, tax filings, and insurance reporting requirements.Supervise and develop accounting staff.Improve accounting processes and ERP system utilization.Maintain current and accurate Accounting SOPs and ensure backup coverage for AR and AP.Assist with ERP implementation and ongoing system maintenance.Perform bookkeeping and payroll functions for a small internally managed dba.Assist with additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications5+ years of progressive accounting experience.Previous accounting leadership or supervisory experience.Hands-on experience using an ERP system for accounting, reporting, billing, and financial processes.Experience implementing, configuring, or improving ERP systems strongly preferred.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.Experience in construction, manufacturing, ready-mix, aggregates, trucking, or a similar industry preferred.Strong knowledge of month-end close, internal controls, and financial reporting.Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Advanced Excel skills preferred.WHY WORK FOR GFT READY MIX?Weekly pay.100% employer-paid employee medical coverage, including Telehealth.100% employer-paid basic life insurance and short-term disability.401(k) with employer match and company profit sharing.Paid holidays, PTO, sick time, and training.Voluntary dental, vision, long-term disability, additional life insurance, and supplemental benefits.Employee discount program.GFT Ready Mix is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
