This position is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates with a geology or other science‑based degree to enter the civil engineering industry and is also a good fit for anyone interested in construction who enjoys hands‑on work. Job Responsibilities Field observation and testing during placement of construction materials including soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, and sprayed‑on fireproofing Reporting of test results and site observations Soil and concrete laboratory testing Required Skills/Experience High school degree Valid driver’s license Possess good oral, written, communication, and organizational skills Able to perform rudimentary mathematical computations Attentive to detail Interest in working outdoors on construction sites Candidates must be able to lift 50–75 pounds on an occasional basis and be physically able to negotiate construction sites, climb ladders and work outside Construction experience is preferred but not required Other Requirements Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history and motor vehicle record Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening The compensation range for this role is between $16/hr to $22/hr. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
