CNC Burning Machine Operator

Infra-Metals is seeking a CNC Burning Machine Operator to join our team. As a leading steel service center, we specialize in value-added processing and distribution of metal products nationwide. This role is responsible for setting up and operating plate burning equipment (Plasma or Oxy-Fuel) to produce high-quality steel products. The ideal candidate has experience in a steel or fabrication environment, is safety-focused, reliable, and takes pride in their work

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Job Function

• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC plate burning machines to meet required specifications.
• Ensure all cuts meet size and tolerance requirements per processing work orders.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and written work instructions.
• Accurately use measuring tools (tape measure, calipers, micrometers).
• Safely use manual hand tools such as wrenches and clamps.
• Operate overhead cranes and assist with warehouse tasks as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with team members to complete production goals.
• Perform additional warehouse duties or special projects as assigned.

Required Skills

• Experience in a steel service center or fabrication environment preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Strong understanding of safety practices in an industrial environment.
• Ability to work within precise limits and standards of accuracy.
• Must be dependable with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Able to work any assigned shift, overtime, and weekends as needed.
• Physically able to stand, lift, climb, and perform warehouse tasks.
• Strong team player with a positive, motivated attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.
