HR Generalist. MSC

This position supports employees and leaders throughout the employee lifecycle and plays an important role in creating a positive employee experience rooted in service, respect, and the dignity of the human person.

Key Responsibilities

• Recruitment & Onboarding: Coordinate job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, pre-employment requirements, onboarding, I-9 completion, and employee transitions. 
• Employee Relations: Serve as an approachable HR resource for employees and supervisors while assisting with workplace concerns, performance management, corrective actions, and employee relations matters.
• Benefits & Leave: Support benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, open enrollment, employee leave programs, workers’ compensation, and employee benefit questions.
• HRIS & Employee Records: Maintain accurate employee information, process employment and organizational changes, assist with timekeeping and PTO questions, and conduct routine HRIS audits.
• Compliance & Administration: Maintain confidential employee records and support compliance with applicable employment laws, HR policies, procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Employee & Mission Support: Build positive relationships across the organization and provide timely, compassionate, and professional HR support in service to employees and the broader mission of the Church.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Be a fully initiated Catholic in the communion of the Catholic Church and intentionally living out the five precepts of the Church (CCC 2041-2043)
• Align with the values and mission of the Catholic Church and possess a willingness to practice human resources from this faithful perspective.
• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field—or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in an HR generalist role.
• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred or a plan in place to become certified.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred).
