Academic Specialist/Faculty in Obstetrics and Gynecology

As part of the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine (MSU CHM) Flint Campus, Hurley Medical Center is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Obstetrician and Gynecologist to join us as full-time faculty in the Hurley Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Training Program. Hurley Medical Center, Flint, Mich., has a diverse patient population and a wide spectrum of cases, delivering approximately 3,000 babies per year. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology comprises a dynamic group of faculty physicians, private physicians, advanced practice providers, and registered nurses. The facility includes a Level III NICU, a Center for Maternal Fetal Medicine, and minimally invasive robotic surgery opportunities with the da Vinci Xi surgical system. Description The ideal candidate can expect to participate in all aspects of obstetrics and gynecologic care, including shifts as a laborist, clinic attending physician, gynecologic surgeon, floor‑rounder, and consultant physician. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. Academic appointment. Faculty in this position may apply for an academic appointment with MSU CHM at a rank commensurate with experience. Responsibilities Provide clinical coverage and resident supervision 4‑5 days per week. Provide or assist in the administrative duties of the residency program, as assigned by the program director. Participate in departmental and institutional committees. Participate in the formal teaching of residents and medical students. Participate in scholarly activities, as defined by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Benefits Competitive salary with signing bonus. New grads welcome.
