Special Education Educational Assistant - Elementary School
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Educational Assistant for a full-time position supporting an elementary caseload. In this role, you will work collaboratively with special education teachers and school staff to provide targeted student support, implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and foster an inclusive, engaging classroom environment.
Compensation & Schedule
Pay Rate: $18.00 to $21.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience
Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (School hours)
Key Responsibilities
Assist special education teachers with daily classroom management and instructional activities.
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to elementary students with diverse learning needs.
Help implement academic, behavioral, and social-emotional accommodations outlined in student IEPs.
Monitor student progress and assist with classroom organization and material preparation.
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all children.
Qualifications & Requirements
Certification: Must be able to obtain a Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) Paraprofessional License/Certification. Will be reimbursed for cost of obtaining this.
Experience: Previous experience working with children, in a school setting, or as a paraprofessional/teacher aide is preferred but not required.
