Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Services Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Preferred experience in an acute care facility License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor is required - AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ARC Advanced Life Support certification is required - AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or ARC Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification is required Must-Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is preferred - Current CPR or BLS certification is required Description: This role delivers coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. The nurse supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff. Coordination of care with other disciplines is vital while employing critical thinking and independent judgment. Essential functions include the collection of relevant data regarding the patient's health or situation. The nurse analyzes assessment data to determine diagnoses and care issues. A plan is developed that prescribes interventions to attain desired outcomes. The plan is implemented, and care delivery is coordinated effectively. Strategies are employed to promote health and maintain a safe environment. Evaluation of progress toward achieving outcomes is a crucial aspect of the role. Collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare providers is necessary to provide safe and humane care. Offering learning opportunities for patients, family members, and team members is encouraged. Involvement in discharge planning ensures continuity of care following hospitalization. The nurse delegates appropriately and coordinates the duties of healthcare team members. Additional job-related duties may be assigned as necessary. Adherence to required vaccinations for employment is mandatory, with certain exemptions available. Participation in E-Verify is part of the employment process.
