The Assistant Teacher will primarily support preschool-aged students in a medium-sized classroom of 10-20 children. This role involves providing direct assistance to the lead teacher, occasionally managing the classroom independently, and supporting a positive, organized learning environment. The Assistant Teacher will engage in various classroom activities, ensuring student safety and fostering development through collaborative efforts. Informal opportunities for professional growth and advancement are available within this role.
Responsibilities
- Support classroom instruction by assisting the lead teacher
- Supervise and ensure the safety of preschool students
- Assist with lesson implementation and group activities
- Prepare and organize instructional materials
- Maintain an orderly and welcoming classroom environment
- Occasionally manage the classroom independently
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in education support
- Associate Degree in Education or related field
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Knowledge of classroom management strategies
- Understanding of child development principles
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving abilities and patience
