Western National Insurance is seeking a UX Intern to join our Product Engineering team as part of the Summer 2027 Internship Program. The UX Intern will provide support to a variety of projects and initiatives, while playing a key role in our day-to-day operations. Does this interest you? The individual in this role will have the opportunity to directly assist the Product Engineering team with a wide range of projects, including collaborating on the user design, research and product design of our agent portal. Position Summary: As a UX Intern in our Internship Program, you will be a key member of our Product Engineering team. Possible tasks that you will assist with include: Conduct interviews, usability testing, surveys, and other research to understand agent needs. Evaluate workflows, navigation, content, accessibility, responsive design, and visual consistency across current agent portals. Identify opportunities to create a more unified experience across agent portals and connected applications. Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and other UX artifacts. Collaborate with product, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders to turn feedback into actionable designs and recommendations. Present findings and document reusable UX patterns that support a future unified agent portal experience. Requirements What You'll Need to Succeed: Senior-level undergraduate or graduate student studying UX design, human-computer interaction, interaction design, information architecture, psychology, or a related field. Prior experience with UX design, user research, product design, or interaction design. Experience creating wireframes, prototypes, user flows, journey maps, or similar UX artifacts; familiarity with Figma or a comparable design tool. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a portfolio demonstrating UX thinking, research, or design work. Compensation Overview: The base pay offered for this position will be $20.00/hour.
