This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated new attorney to gain hands-on experience, learn from seasoned professionals, and develop expertise in mortgage foreclosure and creditor-side collections. The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment, while treating all clients with fairness and respect.Manage and support a caseload involving mortgage foreclosure and creditor-side collections matters in Ohio and Kentucky under attorney supervision as needed.Review legal documents, loan files, and supporting records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable state and federal laws.Prepare, draft, and review pleadings, motions, correspondence, affidavits, and other legal documents related to foreclosure and collections matters.Conduct legal research and analyze statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to creditor rights and foreclosure proceedings.Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and internal teams regarding case status and legal matters.Attend hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as permitted and appropriate based on experience and case assignment.Monitor case deadlines, maintain accurate case documentation, and ensure timely progression of files through the legal process.Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide efficient and high-quality legal services.Assist with additional legal projects and responsibilities as assigned to support firm operations and client needs.Requirements:Licensure: Candidate must be licensed to practice law in both Ohio and Kentucky, in good standing.Experience: Legal internship, clerkship, or relevant coursework in foreclosure, collections, or litigation preferred, but not required.Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a collaborative mindset.Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.This role provides the opportunity to build a strong foundation for your legal career while working in a supportive, growth-oriented environment.Benefits Details Brock & Scott, PLLC offers an attractive benefit package to full-time employees on the 1st of the following month of hire. The insurance portion includes medical, dental, voluntary life, voluntary vision, and critical illness, all at competitive rates. At the 90-day introductory period, the Firm also provides a basic life insurance policy in the amount of one time your annual salary (with a minimum of $25,000 and a maximum of $200,000.00) at no cost.Full-time attorneys receive paid holidays, including six (6) firm-recognized holidays and one (1) Day of Observance, as well as a premium PTO package of 18 days per year. PTO accrues monthly and is credited on the 15th of each month, in accordance with firm policy. PTO benefits increase after 2 years of employment and again after 5 years of employment. After six months of service, employees over the age of 21 become eligible to participate in the firm's 401(k) plan at the beginning of the next quarter.Employment with Brock & Scott, PLLC is contingent upon the successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings and verifications, which may include, but are not limited to, a criminal background check, conflict of interest check, employment and education verification (as applicable), and a pre-employment drug screening.
