Mental Health Technician – Inpatient Behavioral Health – Full Time Days (3 days per week, 7:00am – 7:30pm) – Hospital Hill, 101 Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Responsibilities Provide support to patients with daily activities and direct care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. Maintain a supportive, safe, and positive environment for all patients and staff. Perform a variety of duties, including clerical tasks and clinical support, ensuring dynamic work each day. Use compassion and skills to help patients feel comfortable and supported. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Must obtain BCLS certification within 120 days of hire and keep it current. Clearance through the Family Care Registry. Complete orientation and training as directed within established timelines. Department orientation with classroom and clinical training equivalent to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) regulations, unless waived for proof of competency: Enrolled in a professional or practical nursing program and completed a fundamentals of nursing course. Was a nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure exam in the past 3 years. Certified as a nursing assistant per state regulation. Certified or trained in UAP curriculum. Has documented experience as a nurse assistant, EMT, or surgical technician within the past 3 years. Completed UAP training in Missouri within the last 3 years. Completed a professional or practical nursing program outside the U.S. and awaiting licensure in this country. UAPs from staffing agencies must comply with training requirements. Preferred Qualifications Experience in patient care, including assistance with activities of daily living (ambulation, feeding, etc.). Previous mental health experience. BCLS certification.
