Recovery Specialist III Location: Cherry Hill Sobering About Horizon Services, Inc. Horizon Services, Inc. Role Overview The Recovery Specialist III position is a key role in carrying out daily activities and establishing connections with program participants at the Sobering Center. The position is central to monitoring and maintaining organization, structure and safety for all staff, clients and community members arriving and or residing at the Sobering Center. How can you make a difference in people’s lives? In this role, you’ll make a difference in the lives of people with substance abuse challenges, often with co-occurring conditions. You’ll use and grow your skills in compassionate care, crisis intervention and de‑escalation, in a supportive and inclusive work environment. You’ll have the opportunity to provide our community with substance abuse treatment to help people who are just discovering possibilities in their journey, going from a place of hopelessness to a place where they are valued and have the potential for a better life. What will make you successful in this role? Accountabilities Monitor and observe Sobering Center client behavior and activity to ensure clients are safe, accounted for and stable. Must work collaboratively as part of a multi‑disciplinary team at the Sobering Center. Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all clients at all times. Maintain facility cleanliness and organization daily. Provide assistance with transportation and emergency response. Responsibilities Monitor and observe Sobering Center client behavior and activity to ensure clients are safe, accounted for and stable. Conduct property safety checks on client incoming property. Monitor daily bed roster and census to ensure client accountability with program requirements. Assist with meal preparation and meal distribution daily. Must work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team at the Sobering Center. Communicate daily needs or observational concerns or impressions to Health and or SUD staff. Participate in daily shift change activity and raise any concerns. Create and maintain a safe, welcoming environment for all clients at all times. De‑escalate emotionally unstable client behavior. Provide orientation and overview for incoming clients. Attend to clients’ needs while maintaining daily activity schedule. Maintain facility cleanliness and organization daily. Monitor cleanliness and perform needed cleanup duties. Prepare bed rolls and basic hygienic items for all incoming clients. Replenish supplies as directed by Program Manager. Provide assistance with transportation and emergency response. Transport clients to local facilities when needed. Respond to emergency needs as directed by Program Manager. Assist SUD or Health Center staff with referral and or transfer to continuing care. Interpersonal Communication: Delivers effective communication with a wide range of audiences. Addresses miscommunication quickly and appropriately. Conveys information clearly. Functional/Technical Skills & Knowledge Experience in monitoring safety and daily activities. Experience observing and monitoring SUD clients in a residential setting. Demonstrated ability to remain emotionally stable when faced with hostility or aggression. Ability to time manage and prioritize. Demonstrated ability to maintain facility cleanliness using facility standards. Qualifications 2+ years of client monitoring experience working directly with SUD populations. Basic academic knowledge and understanding of Substance Use. Demonstrated competency in using technology. May be registered with a state certifying SUD body (CCAPP/CADTP/CAADE). Must have a CA driver’s license and good driving record in good standing. Compensation and Benefits 100% of medical, dental, life and LTD coverage for the employee and 50% for any dependents medical and dental coverage. PTO and Holiday pay. Retirement benefits after 6 months of service. Training and CEU opportunities. Salary $24.00-$26.00/hr based on experience and qualifications.
