Multimodality Technician I-1

Performs CT scan and radiographic exams. Produces computerized tomographic scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as directed, according to established practices and procedures. Obtains patient history, explains routine procedures and addresses patient concerns. Hours: As needed. Must be willing to work at the main hospital and BBEMC location.

Education: Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

Work Experience: At least 2 years of multi-modality experience.

Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT Advanced Modality Registration, and licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Skill Sets: Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. Ability to climb stairs, work indoors and outside in temperature extremes, work from elevated areas, and work in confined/cramped spaces. Ability to perform "pinching" operations, gross motor activities, and fine manipulation. Ability to reach overhead, perform repetitive motions, and use both legs. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance, match or discriminate between colors, determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, and maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. (Selected Positions) Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function and be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required.
