Experience and Skills The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is responsible for managing the nursing department in the absence of the Director of Nursing (DON). The ADON must possess leadership and supervisory skills and must be able to work with all team members. Candidates must have a valid Ohio RN nursing license in good standing with the State. They must have a minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience and knowledge of long‑term care regulations and the survey process.
