The Greer Group has a great opportunity for a Production Specialist in the Asheville, NC area !

This is a temp-to-hire role paying $20/hour supporting the manufacturing of fiber optic connectors through assembly, testing, and inspection to ensure high-quality, performance-driven products.

Production Specialist

What You’ll Do

Assemble fiber optic, mechanical, and electronic connector components using work instructions and BOMs
Operate production equipment including IDC insertion machines and solder pots
Perform polishing, cleaving, epoxy curing, and other production processes
Inspect and test connectors and cables for quality, accuracy, and performance standards
Operate test equipment such as interferometers, insertion loss testers, OTDRs, and PCB test systems
Record production and test data accurately to ensure full traceability
Follow safety, ESD, and cleanroom procedures
Support troubleshooting and process improvement efforts

What We’re Looking For

2-year degree in electronics, mechanics, or industrial technology OR 3–5 years of manufacturing experience
Soldering and hands-on production experience preferred
Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions
Experience with precision measurement and testing equipment is a plus
Strong attention to detail and quality focus
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
