Medical Assistant OpportunityWe are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant located in Orlando, FL. This is a temp-to-hire position, and candidates must be willing to transition to a permanent role after the contract period.Key Responsibilities:Perform front and back office customer service duties.Draw blood and conduct venipuncture and fingerstick procedures as ordered.Ensure accurate patient identification using two unique identifiers prior to specimen collection.Prepare collection sites using aseptic techniques and select appropriate collection equipment.Label specimens correctly at the point of collection.Process, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for transport or analysis according to laboratory protocols.Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate first aid or escalate as necessary.Maintain infection control and safety standards during all procedures.Collect and process non-blood specimens (e.g., urine) as required.Working Schedule:This position requires availability for a schedule that includes:Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)Friday: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PMExtended hours (bimonthly rotating schedule): Wednesday or Thursday: 10:00 AM - 8:00 PMSaturday: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM (if scheduled, no work the previous Friday)Qualifications:Certification: BLS and Medical Assistant certification required.One year of experience preferred; first-time travelers are encouraged to apply.Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Must have prior housing arrangements set up before submission.Should be located within 10 miles of Orlando, FL.Skills Required:Experience in authorization forms and chart preparation.Ability to perform follow-up phone calls and verify insurance.Capable of obtaining vital signs and ordering supplies.Experience in scheduling appointments and stocking supplies.Knowledge of telephone triage and performing urinalysis.Proficient in phlebotomy techniques.Additional Information:Candidates should expect to work some holidays as necessary.
