The Host/Hostess also anticipates guests service needs and accommodation requests by actively participating in guest interactions by demonstrating a true hospitality experience by using the Heart of Caribe./ph3Requirements/h3ulliPrevious experience as a restaurant host or in a hospitality role is preferred./liliEnthusiastic individuals with a genuine passion for providing exceptional service are encouraged to apply./liliStrong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with guests and create a fun and welcoming atmosphere./liliExcellent organizational skills to manage waitlists and seating assignments efficiently./liliA food handling certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment./liliTIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification must be completed within the first 90 days of employment./li/ulh3Responsibilities/h3ulliGreet and acknowledge each guest promptly (using names) with hotel greeting standard./liliKnowledge of hotel layout, restaurant station breakdowns and table numbers./liliEscort all guests to their table and introduce their server./liliAnswer telephone calls using hotel/restaurant standards./liliPerform side work assigned by management./liliKnow and implement standards/procedures of service for guests./liliCommunicate with guests, other associates, or departments to ensure guest needs are met./liliCheck menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free./liliEnsure place settings are appropriate, and each guest has the necessary items for the standard place setting./liliReport on guest concerns to Restaurant Management./liliThank every guest upon departure and wish them a fond farewell./liliPerform any other reasonable duties as required by management./li/ulh3Education/h3ulliHigh school diploma or GED./li/ulh3Skills and Abilities/h3ulliAbility to communicate in the English language. Second language is a plus./liliAbility to work flexible schedules including holidays and weekends and able to perform multiple tasks./liliKnowledge of basic food handling policies and procedures as well as the techniques and equipment for preparing and presenting food products for consumption, including storage/handling techniques, proper chemical handling, and sanitation standards./li/ulh3Physical Requirements/h3ulliMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment./liliMust be physically fit in order to lift, pull, and push items up to 50 pounds./liliAlso requires standing/walking/reaching and bending throughout shift./li/ul/div
