HGV Class 1 Driver (Class 2 cover driver)

Position Overview Class 1 HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Driver, responsible for the safe, timely and efficient transportation of goods to designated locations. The role primarily requires Class 1 driving, with flexibility to undertake Class 2 duties as part of a cover arrangement when needed. Salary: £42,250 (from the 1st July 2026) // Cover pay is £12.00 per day Contract Type: Permanent Location: BD6 1DW (Bradford) Key Responsibilities Work responsibly in compliance with safety and quality standards. Safely operate Class 1 & Class 2 HGV vehicles. Deliver and collect goods according to planned routes and schedules. Carry out daily vehicle checks and report defects promptly. Ensure loads are secure and transported safely. Complete delivery paperwork and digital records accurately. Comply with EU/UK drivers’ hours, tachograph, and Working Time Directive rules. Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the vehicle. Communicate effectively with transport planners, customers, and depot staff. Role Requirements Valid HGV Class 1 & 2 licence. Digital tachograph card. Good knowledge of road safety and transport regulations. Strong time management and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and responsibly. Good geographical knowledge or ability to use navigation systems. Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks where required.
