Gorman is one of our trade names and is looking for a Delivery Driver CDL at our St Petersburg, FL location. Pay for Delivery Driver CDLs is between $20 and $25 per hour. About the Role You will operate trucks safely and in compliance with company rules, applicable laws, and regulations. Destinations include job sites, customer facilities, vendor facilities, other Hajoca locations, and facilities of other wholesalers. Load and secure the truck with Hajoca merchandise, ensuring proper placement and protection during transport. Affix appropriate DOT hazmat placards when hauling hazardous materials in excess of 1,000 lbs. Understand shipping documents and navigate accurately to each delivery destination. Review shipping documentation to ensure order accuracy. Unload merchandise at the receiving party’s location and obtain a legible signature per company policy. Collect and secure outstanding payments for all cash‑sale deliveries before releasing materials. Resolve shipping discrepancies quickly and accurately with customers on site. Load truck at other locations (vendor pickups, returns, or other wholesalers) as required. Provide sales leads by noting prospective customer names and addresses discovered during deliveries. Inspect the truck and required parts and accessories before departure, keeping the cab and body clean. Advise management of mechanical problems and complete the Driver’s Daily Vehicle Inspection Report when applicable. Remove keys from the truck at the end of the day and store them in the approved location. Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor and management. About You Be at least 21 years old. Possess a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) for the vehicle(s) being driven, with a hazmat endorsement if required. Have a driving record that meets the criteria for being an Authorized Driver in accordance with company policy. Pass a Department of Transportation physical exam before beginning work and at least every two years thereafter. Know the laws, rules, and regulations governing motor vehicle operation, especially commercial motor vehicles subject to Department of Transportation regulations. Be able to safely operate any delivery vehicle, including those with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 26,001 lbs or more. Know, apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material‑handling environment. Build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co‑workers. Remain calm and function effectively in stressful, unexpected, or emergency situations. Learn to operate warehouse material‑handling equipment. Learn and operate computer–related systems used in the delivery process. Read, write, speak, and understand English. Be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
