Manufacturing Engineer

Description: 

ENG- Develops and implements manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. The work includes applying automation, robotics, computer-aided manufacturing software, model-based data environments, materials and automated processes, factory data, and equipment performance analysis to improve efficiency, cost, quality, production operations, and digital work instructions.

*Must be a U.S. Citizen

#Education & Job Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or an applicable STEM degree

*5-8 years of experience in manufacturing engineering in aerospace, defense, or high-tech hardware

*5+ years of experience with Systems Engineering

*Demonstrated ability to influence decisions without formal authority through technical leadership on design reviews and process improvement initiatives

*Understanding of the Systems Engineering V Model, requirements flow-down, and verification and validation processes

*Able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

*Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, or maintenance manuals

#Preferred Skills

*Master’s degree or coursework in Model-Based Engineering (MBE) or Systems Engineering

*3+ years of experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)

#Job Duties & Functions

*Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling

*Drive adoption of new technologies and processes, including automation, robotics, and computer-aided manufacturing software, to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction, and quality improvement

*Create and analyze 3D-based model data environments to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions

*Leverage understanding of materials and automated processes to define operation procedures and build sequences

*Evaluate equipment and tool performance, including IoT devices, to verify efficiency

*Investigate problems and deficiencies and initiate corrective actions to support operational excellence

*Develop statistical process control approaches using factory data

*Integrate reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement

*Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques

*Guide major projects to completion and potentially function in a leadership role

*Engage with senior personnel on significant matters
