Senior Financial Analyst

What You Will Be Doing: You will be a key member of the finance team supporting revenue accounting activities during this 9-month contract engagement. Your daily responsibilities will include managing revenue recognition, processing cash receipts, preparing journal entries, and performing account reconciliations. You will partner with cross-functional teams to analyze variances, support process improvement initiatives, and ensure accurate month-end close activities. Throughout this period, you will learn the current business processes, take ownership of assigned tasks, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. This role involves working onsite four days per week with some schedule flexibility to foster collaboration and productivity. Key Responsibilities: Support revenue and subsidiary accounting activities, including trade revenue and captive lending revenues. Prepare and post journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and analyze variances. Assist with daily, weekly, and month-end accounting processes. Research and explain financial variances, consolidating data from multiple sources. Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline accounting cycles. Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Support ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed. Required Skills & Experience: 3-5+ years of experience supporting revenue accounting and financial analysis. Strong understanding of accounting principles, including revenue recognition, debits and credits, and month-end close processes. Proficiency in Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas) and working knowledge of Power Query and SQL queries. Demonstrated ability to analyze data, investigate variances, and connect business events to financial results. Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills. Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; or High School Diploma/GED with 10+ years of experience in finance. Good organizational skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines, and a proactive mindset. Strong team orientation and adaptability to change. Desired Skills & Experience: Experience in the financial services industry. Prior experience with financial reporting and month-end closing in a corporate setting. Knowledge of additional accounting software or systems. Exposure to audit processes or strong accounting fundamentals.
