Senior Electronics Component Development Engineer (Supplier Quality)

Senior Component Development Engineer supporting supplier quality at Medtronic's Tempe, Arizona facility. The role involves component qualification, specification development, supplier management, and quality assurance for implantable medical device products across multiple operating units.

Responsibilities

• Select, characterize, qualify, and release electronic components to company standards
• Create and release component specifications, datasheets, and drawings for new product introductions
• Lead failure analysis and corrective action resolution with suppliers and internal teams
• Manage supplier qualification audits and assess manufacturing practices against GMP standards
• Monitor component acquisition through manufacturing and resolve supplier quality issues

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or technical field plus 4+ years engineering/quality experience
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, or clean room laboratory environments
• Knowledge of component selection, characterization, and qualification processes
• Proficiency with failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action procedures
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with design, process, test, and manufacturing teams
• PLM system familiarity and knowledge of engineering processes (DFMEA, PPAP, TMV) preferred
• Professional certifications such as CQE, lead auditor, Six Sigma, or PMP preferred
