Location: Montgomery & Tuskegee, AL

Duration: Up to 12 months, contingent upon contract award


Loyal Source is seeking skilled Carpenters to support the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System (CAVHCS) at the Montgomery and Tuskegee campuses.

Duties

• Measure, cut, construct, and repair wood or wood-substitute items, including scaffolding, staging, panels, pallets, concrete forms, drywall, and roof decking.
• Measure, cut, construct, install, repair, and modify building components such as rafters, walls, staircases, windows, frames, trim work, and cabinetry.
• Independently plan and complete projects involving the construction, alteration, repair, and modification of frameworks, rafters, doors, paneling, windows, interior and exterior trim, staircases, trusses, and beams.
• Plan, measure, and lay out carpentry materials using general and precision woodworking techniques.
• Utilize knowledge of wood materials and suitable substitutes for construction and repair projects.
• Perform metal framing installation for walls and drop ceilings.
• Perform basic concrete and masonry work as required.
• Construct, alter, repair, and modify structural and finish carpentry components throughout facility buildings.
• Use hand tools and power tools common to the carpentry trade.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a carpenter.
• Knowledge of rough and finish carpentry, metal framing, and basic concrete and masonry work.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently and 75 lbs. occasionally .
• Ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work in temperatures exceeding 100°F .
• Ability to work in noisy environments and wear required hearing protection.
• Ability to work around potentially hazardous materials and conditions, including chemicals, oils, fumes, dirt, grease, and machinery.
• Ability to wear and safely work while using an OSHA-approved respirator and pass fit testing requirements.
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical labor for extended periods.
• Must possess or be willing to obtain OSHA 30 Certification .

Pay: $31.02/hr
