1:1 School Nurse (RN) – Lexington, MA

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is partnered with a school in Lexington, MA to hire a dedicated 1:1 Registered Nurse (RN) to support a student throughout the school day and during transportation.

Position Details:

• Location: Lexington, MA

• Start Date: August 31, 2026

• Schedule: 35 hours per week

• Contract Length: 42 weeks

• Pay Rate: Up to $55/hour (depending on experience)

Schedule Overview:

• Start time: Approximately 7:30 AM

• Early release Mondays: ~1:45 PM end

• Regular days: ~3:30–4:00 PM end (depending on traffic)

Student Profile:

• 5-year-old male

• Diagnoses include seizures (including light-induced), low muscle tone, and cortical visual impairment

• Requires head support and assistance with all transfers and transitions

• Learning to use a stander

• Dependent on all activities of daily living

• Likely NPO due to respiratory concerns

Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing care during school and transportation

• Monitor and respond to seizure activity

• Assist with mobility, positioning, and daily care needs

• Collaborate with school staff to support student safety and well-being

The 1:1 School Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the nursing process and delivering individualized student care within the school environment. This role ensures that all services are provided in alignment with physician orders and in accordance with the standards, policies, and philosophy of both the School District and Amergis Healthcare.

Minimum Requirements:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

• One year of school nursing experience, preferred

• Pediatric experience, preferred

• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
