Phlebotomist – We Train Applicants for the phlebotomy position at Grifols should meet the following qualifications: A High School diploma or GED Ability to work a flexible schedule An interest in making a difference in the world Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable Our ideal phlebotomist is patient, reliable, and committed to keep donors comfortable and happy. Primary Responsibilities Assist in determining the suitability of donors. Establish rapport with donors to ensure overall customer happiness while maintaining donor confidentiality. Respond to and assist with handling donor reactions. Monitor donor and equipment to ensure donor health and product quality. Set up, disconnect, and operate the automated plasmapheresis machines. Disconnect and dispose of all contaminated disposable equipment. Occupational Demands: Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potentially infectious organisms. The environment involves electrical office and laboratory equipment, exposure to extreme cold below 32°F while working in a plasma freezer, and requires personal protective equipment such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear. Tasks include standing for 6 to 8 hours per day, bending and twisting for 1–2 hours, frequent hand and foot movements, occasional squatting or crouching, and light lifting up to 15 lbs (maximum 50 lbs). Vision and hearing acuity are essential, and the ability to follow instructions – oral and written – is required.
