Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Brainerd Dental Clinic for an exciting and rewarding opportunity as a Dental Assistant! The Brainerd Dental Clinic provides patient-centered care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, or severe and persistent mental illness. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, we are searching for a Licensed Dental Assistant that is a strong team player who treats their patients and teammates with dignity and respect. This Licensed Dental Assistant provides optimal care for these patients, responding to their needs in a respectful and professional manner. This position provides a challenging and rewarding opportunity to develop a career as a dental assistant. Primary Responsibilities Include: Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures. Assist providers in delivering quality care to patients. Sterilize instruments and infection control procedures. Accurately document treatment information in patient charts. Track lab cases. Assist the front office with clerical responsibilities, medical records, and scheduling. Minimum Qualifications Licensed Dental Assistant with the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry. Strong communication skills Preferred Qualifications Possess a caring and compassionate attitude towards people with special needs. Patient-centered and willing to adapt to the needs of the patient. Experience in chairside dental assisting, charting, and infection prevention Experience assisting in an IV Sedation or Hospital setting Completion of an Allied Sedation Course approved by the Minnesota State Board of Dentistry.
