Role Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients of all ages, employing standardized methods and observational assessments.
- Create individualized treatment protocols that focus on both immediate objectives and long-term communication and swallowing improvement.
- Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions concentrating on communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing skills.
- Team up with a network of professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, physicians, and families to develop cohesive treatment plans.
- Provide education to patients and caregivers to bolster progress beyond the therapy room.
- Aid with occasional evaluations and treatments in an inpatient setting to ensure seamless care throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Keep precise documentation in accordance with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
- Continually advance your expertise by engaging in ongoing education and collaborating with peers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA-certification is pending.
Certifications Required
- State licensure for Speech Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be acquired within the initial 30 days of employment.
