About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead its mission of adult literacy, education, and economic mobility. The successful candidate will be the principal strategic leader, external ambassador, fundraiser, advocate, and community voice. This role involves establishing a clear vision for the organization's future, leading change in a dynamic funding and policy environment, and strengthening alignment across all aspects of the organization. The CEO will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with policymakers, funders, and community partners, as well as diversifying revenue streams to ensure financial sustainability. Candidates for the CEO position should have senior leadership experience in a relevant sector, a strong knowledge of adult education and/or workforce development, and a proven track record in fundraising and revenue diversification. Financial fluency, government and public policy experience, and a history of building effective partnerships are essential. The ideal leader will be an exceptional communicator, a strategic thinker, and a change management expert, with the ability to empower and lead a diverse team. Personal characteristics should include authenticity, empathy, resilience, and a genuine belief in the transformative power of adult education. The role is pivotal in positioning the organization as a central player in Philadelphia's economic future and requires a leader who is ambitious, disciplined, and committed to the mission.
