Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to join our Boston-area team. This role will lead industrial hygiene programs, assess workplace health risks, and develop practical controls that protect employees and support regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of industrial hygiene or occupational health and safety experience. Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or similarly complex technical environments is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead industrial hygiene assessments, exposure monitoring, and risk evaluations.
• Evaluate potential exposure to chemicals, biological agents, noise, radiation, and other workplace hazards.
• Develop sampling strategies and interpret monitoring data.
• Recommend engineering, administrative, and personal protective equipment controls.
• Manage programs involving respiratory protection, hearing conservation, ergonomics, laboratory safety, and hazardous materials.
• Conduct incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to employees, management, and technical stakeholders.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate occupational health and safety programs.
• Perform regulatory compliance audits and assessments.
• Serve as a senior EHS consultant at OSI customers.
• Support compliance with applicable OSHA, EPA, Massachusetts, and industry requirements.
• Partner with engineering, facilities, operations, laboratory, and EHS teams.
• Support new equipment, process, facility, and chemical reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental health, safety, engineering, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of relevant industrial hygiene experience.
• Strong knowledge of exposure assessment, sampling methods, hazard controls, and applicable regulations.
• Experience interpreting technical data and preparing clear, defensible reports.
• Strong communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders across technical and operational functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, biotechnology, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or laboratory environments.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credential.
• Experience with cleanrooms, chemical-intensive processes, biosafety environments, or high-hazard manufacturing operations.
• Familiarity with EHS management systems and continuous-improvement practices.

Compensation & Benefits

• $120,000 – $180,000 annual salary, depending on qualifications and experience
