Wieland is hiring a Materials Inspector I . The Material Inspector I will be responsible for weighing and grading materials in order to ensure accurate shipping/receiving and inventory records. The Materials Inspector I position requires someone with the ability to multitask, function in a high-volume and fast-paced atmosphere, work efficiently with multiple company departments, excellent communication, detail-oriented, great organizational skills ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. This role is located in Granite City, IL, and will be fully on-site. Hourly Pay Range : $22/hr - $24/hr Work Schedule : Mon - Fri 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Pay Schedule : Weekly At Wieland, we recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be based upon various factors unique to each individual that may include but are not limited to years of experience, industry knowledge, technical skills, education, qualifications, etc. Responsibilities Materials Inspector I Responsibilities: Coordinate unloading of materials and ensure accuracy of material weights. Coordinate loading of material with proper weight distribution. Ability to give clear instructions to other team members. Basic ability to navigate within the company database. Proficient in receiving or shipping of domestic and international materials. Initiative to develop materials knowledge using the tools and resources provided. Collaborate with other departments to achieve company goals. Maintain the cleanliness and accuracy of scale equipment and the dock areas. Complete daily reports, maintain logs, spreadsheets, and other records, as assigned. Other duties assigned with flexibility to work in other departments as needed. Materials Inspector I Qualifications: Ability to work independently and as a team, in a safe and efficient manner, and to follow safety policies and procedures. Adherence to health and safety regulations - Ability to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. Hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, gloves, full body harnesses, or other protective equipment as required by the location and work performed. Some tasks may require work in confined spaces. Use of a respirator may be required for certain tasks. Must be medically cleared, fit-tested, and qualified to wear a respirator when applicable. Must maintain appropriate personal grooming to ensure an effective respirator seal. Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint or equivalent. Knowledge and experience working with computerized scale systems and other similar software and equipment. Strong communication skills Self-motivated person with problem-solving skills Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety. Maintains safety as high priority in all aspects of responsibility. Physical Demands: The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment. Ability to stand, balance, walk, and reach for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
