Position Overview

A certified Medical Assistant is needed for a General Surgery role, working weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. This position requires active engagement in patient care and support within a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform various patient care skills and clinical procedures safely and competently.
• Assist in setting up aseptic and sterile procedure trays for surgeries.
• Obtain vital signs and document patient information accurately.
• Facilitate smooth communication with co-workers, patients, and through various forms of correspondence.
• Conduct follow-up phone calls with patients as required.
• Manage wound care and dressing changes effectively.
• Process and label specimens properly for analysis.
• Maintain organized and efficient clinical workflow within the office.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience in either an urgent care facility or family practice office is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an accredited organization is required.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Adequate visual and hearing ability to perform clinical procedures safely.
• Manual dexterity necessary for effective patient care.
• Ability to lift, pull, and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and more than 100 pounds with assistance.

Work Environment

This position involves working with a diverse patient population, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The role requires a dynamic and supportive approach to patient care while collaborating closely with clinical staff.

Additional Information

The selected candidate may be required to float to affiliated facilities as necessary. Completion of required modules prior to starting is expected, and a flexible approach to scheduling is essential as block scheduling is not available.
