Technical Consultant - Cloud Native

Technical Consultant – Cloud Native SUSE transforms community innovations into secure, sovereign, and AI‑ready solutions, enabling customers to escape vendor lock‑in and regain control of their IT destiny. Responsibilities Act as a technical consultant for SUSE technologies, providing expert guidance and implementation support to customers. Assist Lead Architect in larger projects where necessary. Work with customers to implement solutions based on SUSE technologies, ensuring successful deployment and integration. Carry out intermediate hands‑on configuration and coding activities, such as automation scripting. Maintain a proficient understanding of the SUSE portfolio of products, staying current with new releases and best practices. Possess a good understanding of complementary technologies (other Linux distributions, Kubernetes, etc.) to provide comprehensive solutions. Participate in scoping activities for all engagement types, helping define project requirements and deliverables. Assist in creating the scope of work and articulate the benefits of SUSE technologies to users. Establish and maintain long‑term customer relationships, ensuring ongoing satisfaction. Lead smaller‑scale customer engagements from the technical perspective, owning and driving successful outcomes. Provide internal feedback to improve services offerings and contribute to continuous process improvement. Understand feature requests and advocate for customers with product management and/or engineering. Work proactively with customers and colleagues, fostering collaboration and teamwork. Demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and growth mindset skills. Skills Required Automation scripting: implement and manage automation scripts for system configurations. Communication skills: strong verbal and written communication to convey technical information. Complementary technologies: knowledge of related open source and cloud‑native technologies (Linux distributions, Kubernetes, SUSE Rancher, SUSE Security, SUSE Virtualization, VMware, OpenShift). Customer engagement: lead smaller‑scale customer engagements from a technical perspective. Problem solving: strong analytical skills for diagnosing and resolving technical issues. Product portfolio knowledge: proficiency with a range of SUSE products. Relationship building: establish and maintain strong relationships with customers. Scoping activity: participation in defining project scopes and statements of work. Solution deployment: experience implementing and deploying solutions based on SUSE technologies. Solution optimization: contribute to optimization of customer solutions. Teamwork: collaborate effectively with colleagues and customers. Technological knowledge: system administration, scripting, automation, and development experience.
