Speech Language Pathology Assistant

The Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) is responsible for supporting the delivery of speech and language services under the direct supervision of a licensed Speech Pathologist. The SLP-A will assist students in developing communication skills and support academic success through specialized therapeutic support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Implement speech and language therapy activities under the supervision of a licensed SLP
• Basic knowledge of augmentative communication
• Support students in developing communication, articulation, and language skills aligned with individualized Education Goals
• Collect and document student progress toward IEP goals and objectives
• Prepare and organize therapy materials and resources
• Collaborate with the supervising SLP and educational team members
• Maintain accurate service logs and Medicaid billing documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements

Qualifications include:

• Illinois licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
• Knowledge of IEP development and implementation
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse educational teams
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse communication needs
