Senior R&D Scientist, Chromatography Materials

Agilent seeks a Senior R&D Scientist in Wilmington, Delaware to lead innovation in silica and polymer particle technologies for chromatography and biopharma applications. The role involves designing synthesis and manufacturing processes, driving technology strategy, and mentoring cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Lead chromatography and biopharma consumables innovation across the division
Design and execute complex silica or polymer particle synthesis and surface functionalization studies
Direct technology transfer from lab-scale prototypes to full-scale manufacturing
Serve as technical escalation point for critical product, process, and materials issues
Mentor R&D team and strengthen scientific capability across the organization

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Materials Science, or Chemical Engineering
8+ years of experience in polymer/organic synthesis and particle manufacturing
Demonstrated expertise in surface functionalization and materials characterization
Working knowledge of chromatography and biopharma applications
Proven ability to solve complex technical problems and deliver innovative solutions
Experience leading multidisciplinary technical efforts and developing technology strategies
Strong communication skills to translate technical concepts for leadership and stakeholders

Compensation: $146,640–$229,125 base annually, plus bonus, stock, and benefits
