RN Med-Surg Telemetry

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will primarily provide skilled nursing care on the 1S Observation unit, with additional responsibilities floating to other Med-Surgical units such as Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac, and potentially the Emergency Department. The role requires expertise in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing, proficiency with Epic EMR, and the ability to deliver high-quality patient care during night shifts. The RN will collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient assessments, treatment planning, and care delivery. Responsibilities:

• Provide skilled nursing care on the 1S Observation unit and other Med-Surgical units as needed.
• Perform patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment planning.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry and cardiac rhythms accurately.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR system.
• Assist in emergency situations and respond appropriately to patient needs.
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding patient safety and care standards.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Ohio.
• Minimum 3 years of recent/current experience in Telemetry and Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Proficiency in Epic EMR system (no refresher or 1:1 training provided).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• Ability to accurately read telemetry and cardiac rhythm strips (competency tested on day one).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in Emergency Department settings.
• Additional certifications relevant to Med-Surgical or telemetry nursing.

Special Considerations:

• Position primarily assigned to night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM).
• Floating to other units including Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac, and possibly ED based on skill set.
• Every other weekend work is required.
• Call duty is very rare but may be required occasionally.
• Immediate termination if Epic proficiency or telemetry reading competency is not demonstrated.

Scheduling:

• 36 hours per week, night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
• Schedule includes every other weekend coverage.
